Dr. David Breslin

Dr. David Breslin is a member of our founding corporate board. Dr. Breslin has 28 years experience in education, having served as a head of school, assistant superintendent, principal, admissions and marketing director, athletics director, department chair, teacher, and coach. Dr. Breslin has served in top-level Christian schools in Virginia, Georgia, and Florida, most notably the Covenant School in Charlottesville, Virginia and the Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. He currently serves as an online faculty member for Liberty University’s College of Education where he teaches doctoral level courses in advanced research methods and curriculum and instruction. Breslin also serves as youth coordinator for students in grades 6-12 at First United Methodist Church in Charlottesville.

Dr. Breslin has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ohio Wesleyan University. As a senior, Breslin received OWU’s Student Humanitarian Award for his philanthropic work during his time at the university. Breslin went on to earn a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from Harvard University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Theory and Practice from the University of Georgia.

While at Ohio Wesleyan, Breslin served as a team captain for the Battling Bishops lacrosse team and led his team to the national finals his senior year. Breslin earned 1st team All- American honors, was named Conference Player of the Year, and was named National Goalie of the year during his senior year as well. Upon entering education, Breslin began his long career as a coach, most notably lacrosse, football, and basketball. During his 10 years coaching varsity lacrosse at Covenant, Breslin’s teams won 5 Virginia state championships and 10 conference championships. Currently, Dr. Breslin resides in the Ohio Wesleyan University Athletic Hall of Fame and the New Jersey Lacrosse Hall of Fame. In addition, the Covenant School athletic department created an award named after him, which honors the senior varsity lacrosse player that best exemplifies Breslin’s traits of enthusiasm and positivity.

In his work as a school administrator, Breslin served as president of the Hampton Roads Association of Christian Schools (Va) and president of the Metro Athletic Conference (Va). As a principal, assistant superintendent, and head of school, he spearheaded major academic reforms, including complete overhauls of K-12 curriculum. He has led the creation of major programs designed to increase teacher effectiveness as well as increase student learning. Several of the programs Breslin started and led include the creation of administrator and teacher evaluation systems, mentor and induction programs, and professional development systems. Breslin helped create and lead parent education seminars called “Parent U” that were designed to support and empower parents of school-aged kids. He previously served on the boards of Academic Opportunities in America and Crossfire Lacrosse, both out of Atlanta, Georgia.

Breslin and his wife, Kristen, who is a preschool director, have been married for 16 years and are the proud parents of 8th grader Luke, and 6th grader Kayleigh. The Breslins reside in Charlottesville, Virginia.

 

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Chris Wright

Mr. Wright’s experience in K-12 education and administration includes past work as a teacher, an Athletic Director, Dean of Students, Assistant Headmaster, Head of School, and Executive Director. Mr. Wright was the Executive Director for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (TJCA) in North Carolina, where he led an academically Top 1% nationally ranked school. Mr. Wright is entering his 15th year in the classical education circles.

Before entering K-12 education, Mr. Wright served 20 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lt Col. Mr. Wright served primarily as a US Air Force Special Warfare Officer and deployed nine times in support of joint special operations. During his military career, Mr. Wright served twice as a Head of School for US Special Warfare schools, where he utilized his background in teaching and instruction, curriculum development, and professional development. In this capacity, Mr. Wright managed over $30M in assets and operating budgets over $3.65M. Moreover, he had the opportunity to lead 81 staff members to teach over 600 students in subjects such as radio wave theory, advanced math, government policy, leadership and management, and advanced physical activities.

Mr. Wright earned his Bachelors in Public Administration from Samford University, a small liberal arts college in Birmingham, AL, and his Masters in Education specializing in Teaching and Instructing from Trident University in California. Mr. Wright is an expert in organizational leadership, effective communications, and team building by establishing trust and instilling discipline. Additionally, he possesses a wealth of athletic experience in playing Division I football and in coaching high school football, wrestling, and lacrosse in Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Virginia.

Mr. Wright is married to Karen Wright, and they have three boys. Karen has over 25 years of experience in coaching and athletics at schools such as Auburn, Michigan State, University of Colorado, Hillsdale College, and Trinity University. Their eldest son, Elijah Wright, attends Auburn University where he works with the football team. Jaxson and Lagassee Wright both attend the Wesleyan School.

 

Dr. Tim Wakeham

Dr. Tim Wakeham is a distinguished figure in the realm of leadership psychology, renowned for his expertise in communication, engagement, and teamwork. With a profound commitment to empowering individuals and organizations, Tim’s journey towards becoming a catalyst for positive change began with his unwavering dedication to understanding the intricacies of human behavior and leadership dynamics.
Tim embarked on his academic pursuit at William James College, where he pursued his doctorate in leadership psychology, honing his skills with a distinct emphasis on neuroscience. Throughout his academic journey, Tim demonstrated an insatiable thirst for knowledge, delving deep into the complexities of the human mind and its implications for effective leadership.
Specializing in communication, engagement, and teamwork, Tim has become a trusted advisor for leaders and staff across the nation. Through his innovative strategies and insightful interventions, he has helped countless individuals and organizations overcome challenges, unlock their potential, and achieve unprecedented success. As he continues to chart new territories and push the boundaries of leadership psychology, one thing remains certain: Dr. Tim Wakeham’s legacy of empowerment and enlightenment will continue to shape the landscape of leadership for years to come.

 

Principal Cory Hake

Cory brings three decades of invaluable experience in educational leadership to Morae Classical Schools. His journey began in 1994 when he commenced his teaching career at Valley Christian Schools in Cerritos, CA, focusing on elementary education. During his tenure there, Cory also actively contributed as an assistant coach across various sports including football, girls’ basketball, and baseball.

With a thirst for further knowledge and professional growth, Cory pursued and attained his Master’s Degree from The United States Sports Academy in Mobile, AL. This academic achievement propelled him to the role of Athletic Director at Slippery Rock Area High School in PA, where he dedicated seven years to enhancing the school’s sports programs. During this time, Cory pursued additional qualifications, earning Principal and Superintendent Certifications from Gannon University in Erie, PA.

Remaining committed to serving the Slippery Rock community, Cory transitioned to roles as a Building Principal at the Elementary, Middle, and presently the High School level, a position he has held since 2015. Throughout his career, Cory has maintained his passion for coaching, notably spending ten seasons as an assistant with the Grove City College baseball program.

Cory’s roots trace back to Simsbury, Connecticut, where he excelled as a student-athlete, lettering in football and baseball before graduating in 1989. His achievements on the field were commemorated in 2023 when he was inducted into his high school’s Hall of Fame alongside his Baseball State Championship-winning team.

Academically, Cory completed his undergraduate studies at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, graduating in 1994 with a major in Elementary Education. Beyond his professional pursuits, Cory finds joy in family life. He is married to Heather, a dedicated Kindergarten teacher in the Grove City Area School District since 2006. Their daughter, Sara, is a 2023 graduate of Coastal Carolina University and currently works at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, while their son, John, is pursuing a degree in Communications at Grove City College in PA.
